Road Directions
Great Orme Mines is well signposted from the A55 and other approach roads into Llandudno and is easily accessible by car or public transport..
Follow signs for Llandudno until you see the brown “Ancient Mine” and mine symbol signs.
If you are following SatNav please note some SatNavs may take you the wrong way when driving up the Great Orme. When approaching our site, don't turn left down St Beuno's Road, but keep heading up hill until you see our sign on the left.
Public Transport Directions
The Alpine Great Orme Explorer bus - departing from the pier stops immediately outside Great Orme Mines (contact Alpine Travel for timetable). Discount available on entry to the mines for those that arrive via the Great Orme Explorer. Discounts available to all those traveling to us via Great Orme Explorer bus.
The Great Orme Tramway - catch the tram at Victoria Station on Church Wallks and alight at the Halfway Station. Following the signs marked "Copper Mine" (heading towards the summit) for a five minute walk. Our site will be on the left. (Contact Great Orme Tramway for timetable. Discounts available on admission to all those that travelled to us via tram.
The Arriva number 26 bus towards Tyn-y-Coed - this can be caught opposite The Palladium (Wetherspoons). Alight at the Halfway Tram Station bus stop and follow the road and signs for Great Orme Mines for 5 minute walk. (contact Arriva Buses Wales for timetable).
The Cable Car - this will take you from Happy Valley to the Summit. On arrival at the Summit Station follow the road down the hill on a 15 minute walk until you see our sign. Our site will be on the right (Please note, the Cable Car is weather dependent and cash only).
There are also a number of taxi companies that you can call from Llandudno, including Alliance (01492 87 87 87).
