A journey to North Wales is an experience in itself – we have some of the most scenic railways and roads in the UK.

Easily accessible from all major UK destinations, North Wales has excellent transport links, which are being constantly upgraded for even faster journey times.

Public transport is much easier and more reliable nowadays as most operators have apps. Load the relevant app on your smartphone for up-to-date departure, arrival and journey times, plus the locations of your nearest bus stops and train stations.

By Train

Sit back and enjoy the mountains, beaches and meadows rushing by. Our superb railway network connects with the rest of the UK, making it easy to explore the whole of North Wales efficiently and affordably: what's more, a North Wales Rover Railcard or the North and Mid Wales Pass gets you discount off an adult fare.

By Car

With some of the best scenic roads in Britain, a journey to North Wales can be a memorable experience through spectacular scenery. By car is the most popular way to travel to, and around North Wales.

Please note, from 17^th September 2023, the default speed limit in built up areas in Wales (restricted roads) has changed from 30mph to 20mph. This affects most, but not all, 30mph streets. North Wales is an easy destination for international travellers, as it is only an hours drive from Liverpool and Manchester airports. We also have two smaller airports, Anglesey and Caernarfon, ideal for domestic flights.
