  • Equipment/clothing free of charge - Path Finder: A hard hat and hand torch is provided. Adventurer: Helmet, cap lamp, lamp belt & safety clips. A pair of wellies can also be provided if necessary. We recommend that all explorers wear 2 pairs of thick socks, the temperature underground is a cool 8 degrees, whatever the temperature aboveground.

  • Indoor Attraction - Corris Mine Explorers takes you underground into an abandoned Welsh slate mine.
  • Outdoor Attraction - There is a short walk up a steep path to the mine entrance which is all outside. You then enter the mine and explore underground.

Public Transport Directions

There are regular buses from Aberystwyth, Dolgellau and Machynlleth: T2 stops right outside and 34 stops in the village of Corris (a 10 minute walk away).  Sustans Cycle Route 8 passes nearby. There are direct trains from Birmingham to Machylleth.
