About
A beautifully restored Welsh stone cottage with views of the sea beyond the rural landscape. This charming holiday cottage was designed by David Williams-Ellis, the great nephew of Clough Williams-Ellis, whose Italianate Village, Portmeirion is close by.
The soft furnishings, colours and textures, enhanced by carefully chosen furniture make this a delightful place to stay. Tyn Llech is situated on a private country estate in a bird watcher’s haven. This is the gateway from which to enjoy the best that Wales has to offer - the mountains of Snowdonia; the Ffestiniog and Welsh Mountain Railways; Castles and Beaches; Walking, Sailing and Climbing. The seaside town of Criccieth with it’s splendid Castle overlooking the picturesque bay is only a short drive away. The renowned Black Rock Sands are within walking distance.
This welcoming home is thoughtfully laid out with the kitchen/dining room equipped with electric double oven and ceramic hob, fridge freezer and microwave at one end and table and chairs at the other. Two steps take you up into the sitting room with it’s limed oak floor, deep comfy sofas and chairs set around a wood burning stove in the inglenook fireplace. A basket of logs is provided, and further supplies can be purchased through the housekeeper. There is a Smart TV with Sky Freeview, Infinity Broadband and iPod dock. A door from the sitting room opens onto the lawned gardens. Every comfort has been thought of - we provide snuggly blankets for relaxing by the fire on autumn evenings. Beds are made up with pure down duvets and fine thread Egyptian cotton and fluffy towels are provided.
Leading from the sitting room, and on another split level is the Master Bedroom, which is beautifully presented with two singles which can zip together for a king size bed. There is a separate shower room with loo, basin and a walk-in shower/wet area, heated towel rail and under floor heating with views across the landscape.
Upstairs are two bedrooms; a twin room and a double room. You will see some of the owner’s framed drawings on the walls. These two rooms share a bathroom with loo, basin and bath with hand-held shower.
Outside, the garden has views across the fields to the sea. There is garden furniture and a barbeque for al fresco eating.
