Water's a big part of our world. We're surrounded by some of the richest maritime seas in the UK. We've got famous and fearsome tidal races as well as sheltered bays and estuaries. You can sail and paddle our lakes and see the mountains from a whole new perspective.

Ready to get wet? North Wales watersports include whitewater activities. Our upland rivers boast some of the best paddling and rafting in the UK.

Many beach resorts have become North Wales watersports playgrounds. Pwllheli on the Llyn Peninsula features a world-class marina and recently opened training centre. Rhosneigr on Anglesey is the wind- and kite-surfing capital of Wales. There's more great sailing from Conwy, Harlech and Barmouth.

Great surf beaches include the giant jaws of Hell's Mouth (Porth Neigwl) for the more experienced and beaches around Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay for those still finding their mojo. An inland surf lagoon gives you the perfect wave every time - great If you're new to surfing or looking to practice.

For the ultimate experience of land and water, give coasteering or canyoning (gorgewalking) a try. Both involve scrambling over rocks and jumping into sea and pools.
