Getting Around North Wales is About to Get a Lot Easier

Getting around Wales is about to get a lot easier. Leading bus operator Arriva is rolling out 59 brand new buses across North Wales as part of a £15 million investment. It’s the latest step in a wider £340 million programme to transform bus travel right across the UK.

The new fleet is arriving in three key locations – Rhyl, Wrexham and Bangor.

Whether you're enjoying the seaside charm of Rhyl, the historic streets of Wrexham, or using Bangor as your base to explore Snowdonia, you'll be travelling on cleaner, more comfortable, more reliable buses.

The investment reflects a real commitment to Welsh communities and visitors.

These new buses are a real boost for the areas they serve, offering passengers more comfortable and reliable journeys.

It’s all part of Arriva Cymru’s ambition to encourage people to look at the bus first when they're planning to get around Wales. It’s about making the bus the easy choice for commuters, residents and visitors.

The buses are arriving in phases over the coming weeks and months, with Wrexham's new vehicles already entering service on the Wrexham–Chester route 1.

All the buses are built to the latest Euro 6 emissions standard. Rhyl will see 33 double-deckers join services. There are 16 single-deckers on the streets of Wrexham now and 10 new single-deckers will be serving Bangor.
