The Great Orme is one of Llandudno’s most iconic landmarks, famous for its tramway, cable cars and sweeping coastal views. Tucked into its slopes you’ll also find the Llandudno Snowsports Centre, home to a unique attraction that’s been getting plenty of attention both in person and online. The toboggan run here — the longest in Wales — has recently gone viral on TikTok, with one video alone reaching over 800,000 views.
At 780 metres, the track is the longest of its kind in Wales, with a half-mile route of bends and straights that carries riders down the hillside before looping back to the start. Riders sit in individual carts and control their own speed with a hand brake. Children aged 4 to 8 must ride with an accompanying adult over the age of 16,while children over 8 and adults can ride on their own. The track is only open in dry conditions.
The toboggan has become a highlight, but the Snowsports Centre has been part of the town’s leisure landscape for decades. Alongside the track, visitors will find a dry ski slope used for skiing and snowboarding, sno-tubing, and a 9-hole alpine-themed mini golf course. The Alpine Bar and Kitchen overlooks the bay, serving food and refreshments for those looking to make a full day of their visit.
Tobogganing is becoming increasingly popular across the UK, with similar tracks attracting attention on social media. The Llandudno run stands out not only for its length but also for its location on the Great Orme, combining outdoor activity with views over the North Wales coast.
Tickets are available for single rides, multi-run bundles, and combination passes with sno-tubing or mini golf. The track is busier during weekends and school holidays, so early arrival is advised. As the toboggan only operates in dry weather, checking the forecast before travelling is recommended.
The Snowsports Centre also offers skiing, snowboarding, sno-tubing and mini golf, making it a varied destination for visitors of all ages.
Plan your visit to Llandudno Snowsports Centre and see for yourself why the toboggan run has become one of the most talked-about attractions in Wales.
