If you haven’t already heard, this year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestants will be swapping the Australian jungle for a castle above the village of Abergele!

That’s right, this year’s show will be filmed right here in North Wales!

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is in its nineteenth year. For nineteen years, we’ve watched as the celebrities battle the heat and creepy crawlies of the Australian Jungle. How different it will be for this year’s celebrities. The show is set to be filmed in Gwrych Castle, we say castle… think castle ruin, no roof, and on a hill exposed to the elements… there will be no luxury for the campmates this year!

We all know that North Wales has a very different climate to Australia...especially in November (rain and more rain) and it’s safe to say that while the celebrities are usually adorned in cargo shorts and slouch hats, it is certain they will need their thermals, woolly hats and gloves!

Aside from the creepy-crawly challenges and the inevitable November rain, Gwrych Castle is also said to be home to a ghostly figure – The Woman in White, believed to be a countess who once lived in the castle, has been seen floating around the castle, and people often comment about feeling her presence! We will have to wait and see if she haunts any of this year’s celebrity campmates.

Like most of North Wales, we are really excited for the show to start and we can’t wait to see what the producers have in store for the campmates this year!

Until then and just for fun, why not test your I’m a celeb and North Wales knowledge
