North Wales has played the perfect location for some of the biggest films and TV shows. From Clash of the Titans to Tomb Raider, discover film and TV locations in North Wales.

Snowdonia has been used in many films. The untouched beauty makes the National Park ideal for historic films, whilst the dynamic mountains enable the park to represent other destinations. Tomb Raider (2003), The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (1958), and The World Is Not Enough (1999) have all featured Snowdonia’s mountains.

It’s not just Snowdonia’s mountains which are in high demand, but the quarry’s, too. Dinorwig Quarry in Llanberis was used as a location for Clash of the Titans (2010). The film brought with it some big stars to the region, including Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington. Parts of the film were shot on Newborough Beach in Anglesey, too.

Portmerion has seen its fair share of TV shows. Cult show The Prisoner (1968) was filmed in the village as to was an episode of Doctor Who (1976).

Llanddwyn Island has also been used as a movie location in the past. The popular attraction on Anglesey hosted Demi Moore for the 2006 film Half Light.
