Ysgubor Degwm is a beautifully restored medieval barn on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula, offering spacious, characterful accommodation for holidays with family and friends. Set in peaceful countryside, yet within easy reach of the coast, it is ideally located just 4 miles from Pwllheli, 5 miles from Criccieth and 11 miles from Abersoch.
Sleeping up to 10 guests across 5 bedrooms, Ysgubor Degwm combines original charm with the comfort and space needed for a memorable group stay. The ground floor centres around a spacious kitchen diner, well equipped for relaxed family meals and easy entertaining, with generous fridge, freezer and pantry storage, as well as a dining table seating 10. We also provide a Tripp Trapp high chair with baby set and chair covers for younger children.
Next to the kitchen is a useful utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, shower and WC.
The main lounge is a striking room with high ceilings, exposed beams and wonderful original barn character. Comfortable seating is arranged around the wood burning stove, making it an inviting place to relax after a day exploring the peninsula. There is also a smart TV for cosy evenings in. At one end of the lounge, the main dining table seats 12 and is ideal for long, sociable suppers.
The snug provides a second sitting room, with sofas, an armchair, electric stove and another smart TV, giving guests plenty of space to spread out and unwind.
On the first floor in the east wing are two super king bedrooms, one with en suite, along with a twin bedroom. A shared shower room serves the second super king room and the twin room. In the west wing there is a king bedroom and a bunk bedroom for 2, together with a family bathroom featuring a beautiful copper bath.
Outside, the barn opens onto extensive gardens with a private heated indoor swimming pool in a separate enclosure, reserved exclusively for guests staying at Ysgubor Degwm. The grounds also include a full size tennis court, wood fired pizza oven, outdoor cinema, table tennis, barbecue, garden lounge, al fresco dining areas and bikes for guests to use during their stay.
Kitchen
The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for large family gatherings, with plenty of crockery, cutlery, serving dishes, boards, pantry staples and kitchen gadgets. Appliances include an Everhot range, dishwasher, American fridge freezer with ice and water, second fridge, Quooker tap for instant boiling water, toaster, toastie maker, stand mixer, hand mixer and blender. The kitchen table seats 10 comfortably.
Lounge
The lounge is full of character, with exposed beams, an open apex ceiling and a cosy wood burning stove. Three sofas and two armchairs provide comfortable seating, while French doors on both sides of the room fill the space with light and open out to the front of the barn and the garden patio. There is a smart TV, Bose speakers, and a selection of books, board games, jigsaws and a small basket of toys.
Dining Room
The main dining area is set at one end of the lounge, with a large table seating 12. Comfortable chairs and generous space make it ideal for relaxed family meals and long evening dinners.
Snug / Study
The snug offers a calm second sitting room with two sofas, an armchair, electric stove and smart TV. It is also stocked with books, board games and jigsaws. A printer is available here too, which is handy for tickets and local bookings.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are provided with quality white bed linen and towels.
Bedroom One
A spacious master bedroom with super king bed, en suite shower room, wardrobe, vanity, chaise and armchair.
Bedroom Two
A lovely room with views towards the sea. This bedroom has a super king bed which can also be made up as twin beds, together with a wardrobe, vanity and armchair. It shares a shower room with Bedroom Three.
Bedroom Three
A twin bedroom with views towards the hills. The beds can also be arranged as a super king on request. The room also includes a wardrobe, vanity and armchair.
Bedroom Four
A king bedroom with sea views, wardrobe, vanity and armchair. This room is in the west wing of the barn, close to Bedroom Five and the family bathroom.
Bedroom Five
A bunk room sleeping 2, ideal for children, with bunk beds, window seat, clothes rail, drawers and a selection of children’s books.
Bathrooms
There is a family bathroom with a copper bath, hand held shower, WC and basin. In addition, there is a shared shower room, an en suite shower room to the master bedroom, and a further shower, WC and basin in the utility room.
Garden Kitchen
The garden kitchen opens directly onto the patio, making outdoor dining easy. It includes plenty of dishes and utensils, along with an electric hob, oven, fridge and dishwasher.
Outdoor Dining
There is outdoor dining for 10 on the main patio, together with a gas barbecue and wood fired pizza oven. The main dining area is sheltered by a pergola and retractable sail shade, while the orchard has a second outdoor dining set beneath the trees.
Swimming Pool
The heated indoor swimming pool sits within its own separate enclosure in the garden, offering the best of both outdoor living and protection from the weather. The pool is for the exclusive use of Ysgubor Degwm guests and measures 9.5m x 4.5m, with a depth of 1.2m. A selection of pool toys is provided.
Tennis Court
The garden includes a full size hard court tennis court. Tennis racquets and balls are provided for guest use, and there is also a basketball hoop and ball.
Table Tennis
Outdoor table tennis is set up on the lawn for guests to enjoy.
Garden
The mature gardens provide plenty of space to relax and play, with football goals, boules, croquet and badminton available. The orchard is a lovely spot to sit and unwind, while the lawn gives children plenty of room to play. A selection of bicycles is also available for guests to use.
Parking
There is a large private parking area with ample space for up to 6 cars, as well as plenty of room to turn.

We provide quality white bed linen, white towels, robes and leisure towels.
