Isallt Guest House

Isallt Guest House was built around 1870 of local Welsh stone and slate by the local Blaenau Ffestiniog Doctor, Robert Roberts. He was also a poet, musician and a fisherman. Also known by his bardic name "Isallt", he composed numerous melodies and poems, taking a particular interest in the strict Welsh meter known as Cynghanedd. He was a keen supporter of the Eisteddfod and in the 1898 National Eisteddfod he served as the chairman of the Music Committee. Apart from his eminence as a physician, he was also an active public figure. He died in 1914.
Isallt has been used for many purposes since, but was converted to a guest house and coffee shop in 1999.we have onsite parking, Secure bike storage, free Wi-Fi, we are close to the Ffestiniog Steam Railway, Zip World, Surf Snowdonia, Bounce Below and the Downhill Mountain Bike Centre.
