Admire the beautiful surrounding countryside with your morning ‘paned’ (cuppa) and chill out at night by the campfire taking in the sunset and black starry night sky.  The Clwydian Range AONB is indeed praised as a dark sky area in Wales. 

With excellent walking, mountain biking, water based activities and historical sights on your doorstep, we are just the tonic for those seeking relaxation or an action packed getaway in the countryside.

We are in a central position for exploring The Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB.  Picturesque Ruthin is our local market town (15 mins), the bustling resort of Llangollen is only 13 miles away and we are 5 miles from the Offas Dyke Path (lifts to and from can be catered for).  The inland resorts of Bala and Betws Y Coed, well known gateways to Snowdonia National Park are within 45 minutes away.

Bringing a mountain bike?  We are only 10 minutes from One Planet Adventure, one of Wales’ most popular mountain biking destinations with over 40km of biking trails and various walking trails set within the 650 acre Coed Llandegla Forest.  We have a bike shelter and a drying area in our Amenity Hut so you can hang any wet jackets and store muddy boots here and keep your Shepherds Hut nice and clean and clutter free.
