Llangar Church

Llangar is an excellent example of a fairly remote and rustic parish church interior, remodelled in the early 18th century. This small, idyllically located medieval building retains many ancient features, including extensive 15th century wall paintings, a 17th-century figure of death, old beams, box pews, pulpit and minstrels' gallery. The graveyard at Llangar is of considerable interest since it has been left untouched since the abandonment of the old church for burial after about 1870. The churchyard also contains the remains of a sundial base.
