About
Warrandyte Cottage in Dwygyfylchi, is a traditional old Welsh cottage offering relaxing accommodation amongst beautiful surroundings. It has gas central heating but has been recently renovated with new log-burner in the lounge/diner for those cosy evenings in with Wifi, HD TV and Blue-Ray DVD, board games & books for your entertainment.
The bedrooms are on the first floor. Bedroom 1 looks out to the sea with 2 single beds, (can be made into a double,) and a comfortable, extendable bed for a small child up to the age of 10. Bedroom 2 has a double bed with french doors opening out to the new garden patio for the pleasure of breakfast or evening meal in our pretty, sheltered, south-facing garden. The shower-room and WC are also on the first floor. Bed linen & towels provided.
Although we offer a fully equipped modern kitchen with gas cooker & combination microwave, for those who want their holiday to be away from the kitchen there are 2 restaurants and 2 pubs, all less than 1 mile from the cottage – each serving good food at reasonable prices.
Situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and sheltered by the shoulder of Foel Lûs, it is a perfect setting for those who enjoy the beauty of Wales. There are sea views towards Puffin Island and Anglesey from the front of the property, whilst the gate from the back garden encourages walkers up towards the Jubilee path, with spectacular views and Neolithic remains along the way, - said to be the finest in North Wales.
Wildlife is on every side with buzzards soaring above and the mountain ponies ready to greet anyone who carries a rucksack, (maybe there’s a carrot to be had, but watch your fingers!!) The journey towards Conwy on Hen Fford Conwy, by car, bike or on foot, takes you through the Sychnant Pass – pause for a while, join the hikers as they stroll to the left or right of the road to enjoy the spectacular views from the hilltops, you’ll be glad you did.
The blue-flagged beach is a ten minute walk through the village for those who wish to play in waves with Conwy and Penmaenmawr marinas just a short drive for the sailing fraternity. For the golfing members of the family, the scenic, local course is less than a 5 minute walk from the cottage with members always welcome. Bikers, the mountain tracks are calling.
Keep the children happy with the many adventure parks in the area or with Surf Snowdonia which is due to open in summer 2015, but for extreme adrenaline junkies the new Zipworld, Bounce Below, or Go Below Snowdonia are an absolute must; but not for the faint hearted.
The major towns and Edwardian castles of North Wales and Anglesey, (awarded World Heritage Site status,) are a short car drive away with beautiful crafts to buy and workshops for those of an artistic nature.
No visit to Wales would be complete without travelling on one of the many narrow-gauge steam railways or trams. Whether your trip is to the summit of Snowdon or just a gentle ride up the Great Orme tram, spectacular views are on every side.
Families, walkers, bikers very welcome.
Sadly for the comfort of all our guests we are a no smoking and no pets property
