The New Penrhyn Art Group is holding a free open day from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday July 5, at the Penrhyn New Hall, 12 Carolina Crescent, Penrhyn Bay LL30 3HG, next to the bowling club. No need to book – just turn up any time during the session.
"We are a small and friendly group of local artists who get together every Tuesday to develop our skills and enjoy painting together. We would be delighted to show people how we work and chat with potential new members," said John Hutchinson.
"We employ professional guest tutors and models occasionally, to help explore new avenues of creativity and techniques. Sessions are based in the hall's light and airy studio, which has excellent facilities, including easels – and we sometimes venture out between sessions to paint and draw in the open air. Members also have several opportunities to exhibit their work.
"Above all, we are about encouraging each other to share the joy of painting."
After a summer break, the new term of 10 sessions will begin in September. Costs for the whole term are £175, or £25 per drop-in session, to cover room, tutors and model hire.
