  • Indoor Attraction - Corris Mine Explorers takes you underground into an abandoned Welsh slate mine.
  • Outdoor Attraction - There is a short walk up a steep path to the mine entrance which is all outside. You then enter the mine and explore underground.
  • Smoking Some Areas - Smoking is not permitted underground in the old Braich Goch slate mine. Smoking is permitted above ground before and after your mine exploration.

Road Directions

Find us at the Corris Craft Centre on the main A487 road between Dolgellau and Machynlleth.

Public Transport Directions

There are regular buses from Aberystwyth, Dolgellau and Machynlleth: X27 and T2 stop right outside and 34 stops in the village of Corris (a 10 minute walk away).  Sustans Cycle Route 8 passes nearby. There are direct trains from Birmingham to Machylleth.

* Corris Mine Explorers is open from 1st April to 3rd November 2019. Explorations can be booked online. We are also open for groups of 6+ at other times of the year, please phone 01654 761244. Advance booking is highly recommended. If you're passing by it's always worth checking if any trips are running.
