Mona Antiqua - The Druids Last Stand at Oriel Ynys Môn

The 19th century Antiquarian W.O Stanley will guide you into the past. This tour will visit some Iron Age / Celtic sites and trace the last footsteps of the Druids.

In the Centuries preceding the coming of the Romans, Anglesey was the stronghold of the Druids, the scholars, the wise men and the religious leaders of the Celtic Tribes. This tour will visit some of the Iron Age / Celtic sites on Anglesey and trace the last footsteps of the Druids before they and the Celtic Warriors were mercilessly slaughtered on the Banks of the Menai.

We will finish off the tour with a rare opportunity to gain access into the Neolithic Chambered Tomb of Barclodiad y Gawres to view the Neolithic art on the cromlech stones.

Arrangements for joining your coach - All coach-tour events start form Oriel Ynys Môn in Llangefni. You are asked to be there at 10.15 as coaches will depart at 10.30. Events normally last 6 hours.
